I don't ...Perhaps you can look at the greek there? I don't have vast skills to do that. The way it sounds in the dictionary is that its a more passive thing on the wife's part, not something she strives to "DO". She IS controlled and ruled by however her "head" is. If her head is foolish, she will suffer because she IS subject in all matters....

Kinda like in the movie Fireproof where they said
"A wife is like a rose.
If you treat her right she blooms.
If you treat her wrong she wilts"
She IS subject to her husband (even if she dislikes the power he has to "wilt" her, she can't help it)Charishttp://2dig.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4432829881659791534.post-45168056595750904562009-05-08T00:05:00.000-04:002009-05-08T00:05:00.000-04:00I am enjoying your blog very much. ...I am enjoying your blog very much. You go girl!

The passage in Ephesians says "the husband is the head of the wife". There is nowhere in Scripture where the husband is called "the head of the home"

I'm wondering if you ever looked at oikedespoteo? Katherine Bushnell talked about it in "God's Word to Women" Here's a link http://godswordtowomen.org/gwtw.htm see lesson 48 paragraphs 368-369.

I also just noticed thanks to an online dictionary that "As the italics indicate, these English words do not represent any Greek word or words. So the verse would be more literally translated this way: “But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives are to their husbands in all [matters]." That got me thinking that this is another case of DESCRIPTION rather than PRESCRIPTION. Like "the husband is the head of the wife". It is not something he "does". It is what he IS (whether he is a good husband or an evil one, he IS "head of the wife")Charishttp://2dig.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.com
